Mission
The Japan Sustainable Cosmetics Promoting Foundation aims to advance understanding of sustainability in the cosmetics industry through research-based analysis and critical examination. Rather than promoting trends or commercial interests, the Institute focuses on governance, transparency, biodiversity, and regulatory perspectives, and seeks to clarify complex issues surrounding “sustainable beauty” and “clean beauty” in a rigorous and neutral manner.
Current Status
The Institute operates as a non-profit, voluntary organization. It is not structured as a membership-based association and does not pursue continuous expansion or commercial activities. Its primary role is to organize knowledge, document perspectives, and preserve records relevant to sustainability in the cosmetics sector.
Core Activities
- Research and issue mapping related to sustainable cosmetics, clean beauty, biodiversity, and governance
- Preparation and publication of policy-oriented statements, perspectives, and official documents
- Occasional lectures, seminars, and academic or professional presentations based on prior research
- Archiving and preservation of previously published materials for reference purposes
